Despite consistently releasing music in recent years, it wasn’t until “Flowers” that the former Disney star truly found her moment in this decade. The song has propelled Miley Cyrus back to the number one spot after many years and has become one of the biggest hits in her career.

The message sent to Miley Cyrus’s ex-husband made a huge impact when it debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart right after its release. This is also Miley’s second number one song on this chart, following the hit “Wrecking Ball.” “Flowers” also continues to dominate the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts. In the end-of-year charts, Billboard also recognized this song as the fourth best song of 2023.
On January 19th, “Flowers” became the most streamed song in a week on Spotify. It also became the fastest song to reach 1 billion streams in the history of the platform.
